Are you prepared? I’m not talking about the end of the world, some pandemic or anything of that sort. Rather I am talking about security and ability to reach your various accounts if things go bad.
What can go bad? Well, you can be knocked out of your email, usually a server issue who hosts your email, can be a pain but can be fixed most of the time. You can get knocked out of your ad accounts. Now all of a sudden your not in control of what could be thousands of dollars being spent.
You could also have what happened to me and inspired this article. Get locked out of one or more of your social media accounts like Facebook. With their ever changing terms of use, which everyone just accepts so they can keep using the media, it’s also becoming impossible to keep up with the changes.
I got a 24-hour ban from Facebook for what I thought was a sarcastic comment as I shared an article from the Guardian. It seemed funny, you can see it here… Within 3 minutes of my sharing it I got the message from Facebook you see.
I, of course, went through all the clicks to try to get the mark removed from my account and again be able to post. This however meets with the expected result… no change… you’re banned.
Luckily my business doesn’t rely on Facebook to generate interest and customers but many do. So what happens if you post something and one or more of the social media accounts Ban you or worse yet, CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT.
Well luckily most anyone who does any advertising on Facebook either by their posts or outright advertising there is an answer. Have a backup account on the Social Media so that you can share access with your alter identity. Then should something happen to your primary account you can still access your business accounts and if necessary start all over again with a fresh clean slate.
